Montreal-based singer/songwriter Li Alin has a multifaceted background. For more than a decade she has been investigating new technologies of reproduction throughout many mediums from "virtual sperm banks" on the Internet to "real disseminations" in the Karslruhe zoological garden to animation films like "dying is trendy". Alin has also written "on the skin of tree" and "disseminations" her first novel in 2003. Her initial record "all in" was released in 2006 on Asphodel records. Her music deals with the themes of memory, code, and reproduction but instead of expressing these ideas with strictly electronic music, Alin's work spans brooding, piano-driven torch songs to pulse oriented pop noir.
